Overview

Sonique ("the App") is a Sonos controller application. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Anonymous Listening Data

The App collects anonymous usage data to improve music recommendations and app quality:

• Hashed Household ID: A one-way cryptographic hash of your Sonos household identifier. This cannot be used to identify you personally.
• Track Play Events: Information about which tracks are played (artist, title, duration). This data is associated only with the hashed household ID and cannot be traced back to an individual.

This data is transmitted to our server at soniqueapp.com over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

Sonos Authentication

• OAuth Tokens: Sonos OAuth tokens are stored exclusively in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). These tokens are never transmitted to our servers and are used solely to communicate with the Sonos API on your behalf.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• No personal information (name, email, address, phone number)
• No device identifiers or advertising IDs
• No location data
• No contacts or other on-device data
• No cookies or cross-app tracking

Third-Party Services

• Sonos API: Used to control your Sonos system. Subject to the Sonos Privacy Policy.
• YouTube Music: Subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic Claude API: Used for AI music suggestions. Queries contain only music metadata, no personal data.
• Sentry: Used for crash reporting. Subject to the Sentry Privacy Policy.

Advertising

Sonique contains no advertisements and does not integrate any advertising SDKs or tracking frameworks.

Data Retention & Deletion

Anonymous listening data is retained for up to 12 months. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. Contact us at the address below.

Data Security

All data transmission uses TLS encryption. OAuth tokens are stored in iOS Keychain / Android Keystore.

Children's Privacy

Sonique does not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
